W’re excited to share the experiences of our next RUDM Alum, Ashley Gross. Ashley was involved in DM from 2009-2012 as a team rep for Sigma Delta Tau, Morale Captain, and was titled “Most Spirited Dancer” in 2012. Ashley still supports RUDM and even got her school district involved!
Describe your overall RUDM experience:
DM has always been an exciting event for me. At first I had signed up through Greek Life. I ended up signing up on my own the following years based on the friends that I made through DM and I knew would continue to participate.
What’s your favorite thing about DM?
For 32 hours I was committed to doing something that I knew would impact so many lives. I love knowing that I am doing something good for many. I also loved being surrounded by many people who felt the same way that I did. Every year I made new friends and grew closer to old friends within those 32 hours.
How has DM impacted your life?
I still donate to RUDM. I won a charity raffle at the school district that I work for and my supervisor of Special Education donated to DM upon my request! Embrace Kids Foundation is always my first charity. I also still keep in touch with our adopted children and love to see them leading beautifully healthy lives.
What are you excited about for DM 2015?
What’s not to be excited for?! Seeing old friendly faces and dancing of course!
Thanks, Ashley, for sharing! Come see Ashley and other RUDM Alumni at Rutgers Dance Marathon on Saturday & Sunday, April 11 & 12 at the Rutgers Athletic Center (RAC). The annual RUDM Alumni meeting will be held at 11:45am on Sunday, the 12th at the RAC.
